Michaelangelo needs to back the hell off of Michael Bay and let the guy turn the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into aliens ... this according to the guy who voiced Leonardo.
TMZ broke the story ... Bay has been getting some serious flack ever since he announced he'll be changing the classic TMNT sewer-based origin story for his upcoming live-action flick.
But not every member of TMNT-nation is hating on Bay's idea to go intergalactic with the Turtles ... in fact, TWO former actors who starred in the original live-action movie are coming to Bay's defense.
TMZ spoke with Brian Tochi -- the original voice of Leo AND the Asian geek Takashi in "Revenge of the Nerds" -- who tells us, "If Michael Bay wants to do a different take on the turtles origin story ... Mazel Tov!"
We also spoke with Judith Hoag -- aka April O'Neal in the classic Turtles flick -- who says she's excited about Bay's new vision ... but her opinion might be slightly slanted.
"I was in "Armageddon" ... which Michael directed ... as well as "Nightmare On Elm Street" and "I Am Number Four" which he produced."
No word if Hoag will be in the new movie ... but she probably just upped her chances.

Award shows just got a little less awkward for Chris Brown and Rihanna ... because a judge just lifted the restraining order prohibiting him from going near her.
Brown appeared in court moments ago in downtown L.A., where a judge replaced Rihanna's restraining order with a level one order -- meaning Chris and Rihanna can have contact as long as he does not harass, annoy, or molest her.
Rihanna was not in court -- but her attorney Donald Etra was ... and told the judge RiRi has no objection to the new order.

CBS icon Andy Rooney -- who was with the network for nearly 60 years -- died yesterday ... reps at CBS confirm.
Rooney had been hospitalized last month for "serious complications" following minor surgery.
Details of Rooney's condition had not been released.
"60 Minutes" executive producer Jeff Fager released a statement saying, "It's a sad day for everybody here at CBS News ... it's hard to imagine not having Andy around. He loved his life and he lived it on his own terms. We will miss him very much."
Rooney last appeared on "60 Minutes" on October 2 -- in which he marveled at the weight of his new laptop computer ... saying, "It weights less than 3 pounds ... I lose that much getting mad waiting to get on the plane through security at the airport."
He was 92.

The gun-toting, Vin Diesel-hating villain from "The Fast and The Furious" is now a major player in the dangerous world of women's fashion accessories ... and TMZ has learned he's now at the center of a lawsuit involving the most COVETED purse on the planet.
Rick Yune -- who played Asian gang leader Johnny Tran in the 2001 flick -- is being sued by a husband and wife duo from London who claim they struck a deal with Yune to buy 10 Hermes Birkin handbags in October 2011.
MANSLATION: The Hermes Birkin bags are the Holy Grail of hand bags ... famously prized by Samantha in "Sex and the City" ... and with a super-long waiting list, they're virtually IMPOSSIBLE to obtain.
The London couple claim they wired Yune $198k for the first 8 bags ... and promised to pay him another $95k for 2 additional bags upon delivery.
According to the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ, the couple claims they NEVER got the bags ... and Yune never returned their cash. The Brits are suing for their money back ... plus damages.
But Yune is calling BS ... a rep for the actor tells TMZ the actor insists he DID deliver the bags to a man who works for the couple ... and Yune believes that particular employee ran off with the goods.
The rep adds, "Rick is not only a very successful actor and businessman, he is one of the most honest people out there. It's a shame someone is trying to tarnish his name and he has fallen victim to a scam."

Brooke Mueller will cop a plea on Monday in her Aspen cocaine possession case -- and she will not serve a day in jail, TMZ has learned.
Brooke was arrested in December and charged with felony possession of cocaine under 4 grams, and felony possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, as well as misdemeanor assault.
Sources tell TMZ ... Brooke will plead guilty to felony possession of cocaine under 4 grams, and the other charges will be dismissed.
Brooke will not get any time behind bars, and will be placed on 12-months probation.
The plea will be a deferred judgment -- translation: the judgment will not be entered, and if Brooke is a good girl and obeys all laws during her probation, the guilty plea will never be entered ... it will just go away.
Sources say one of the reasons the D.A. was agreeable to a plea bargain is that Brooke entered an intensive rehab program after her arrest.
The prosecutor, Chief Deputy D.A. Arnold Mordkin, refused to comment on or confirm the plea, but did say, "We are treating Ms. Mueller no differently than any other defendant."
As for Brooke's lawyer, Yale Galanter, he now has a perfect record in Sheen-ville. He kept Charlie out of jail in his 2009 Aspen domestic violence case, and now he's kept Charlie's ex out of jail as well.

NBA star Kendrick Perkins was arrested in Beaumont, TX this morning for public intoxication and disorderly conduct ... TMZ has learned.
Perkins -- who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder -- was booked into Jefferson County Jail at around 4:00 AM. According to the jail, he posted $251 bond and was released shortly thereafter.
The charges are both misdemeanors.
According to one report, fellow NBAer Stephen Jackson was arrested as well -- but a jail employee told TMZ he was NOT taken into custody or booked on any charges.
Perkins was reportedly in town for a charity basketball game, but that was canceled after Perkins was in the hospital briefly Thursday night for what was thought to be food poisoning.
